🤔 10 Questions with… Rosie Gee (Substack)
I started Dealmakers to demystify the world of talent agents. This role is not only widely misunderstood, even by those within my industry, but also rarely discussed as a career to aspire towards.
There’s no degree, no guidebook, and no standard pathway.
What I’ve also come to realise is that mine isn’t the only job like this. The entertainment industry is full of fascinating roles that are integral but, like me, get asked the same question…
“What do you actually do?”
10 Questions with… will shine a light on some of these jobs.
Today, we have Rosie Gee.
Rosie Gee joined Substack in May 2025 and is now Head of Entertainment for the UK team, working with talent, artists and creators to build their presence on the platform.
She was previously Celebrity & Top Creator Partnerships Manager at TikTok. Both roles centred around helping talent succeed on these new platforms to reach new audiences and fulfil their creative goals.
I sat down with Rosie and put to her my 10 Dealmakers Questions.
Let’s go! ⬇️
➡️ When did you first realise that this job was a real job and one you could actually do?
It wasn’t until I saw the job advert for my previous role at TikTok in early 2021 that I became aware that working with talent for a digital platform was not only a real job, but one I was qualified to do.
That particular job advert spoke to me immediately - as they were looking for someone with either PR or talent management experience, and I had both - so it was a no brainer.
I now do a similar role at Substack, and to be honest, I still don’t always believe it’s a “real job”. I feel incredibly lucky to work with such talented, influential people and call it work.
➡️ What’s the biggest misconception people have about your job?
That we’re a big team. In reality, we’re a team of just three in the UK.
We’re entering a period of rapid growth over the next few months as we gear up for a big 2026, which reflects the growth of the platform. One of the things that’s impressed me most since joining Substack is just how much impact a small, but mighty team can have.
